Middle Child Monday #3

Monday, April 19, 2010

Another Middle Child Monday.  Today's card du jour is #024 Enough Vampires.

This card is so unique.  It seems like everywhere you turn there is some new Vampire book, movie, T.V. show...and I get it, but like the card says enough, is enough.  This is the first product I've seen to address this obsession.  If you have a friend that has gone over the top with their Vampire longing, then this is the perfect card for them.  This card line has such a broad range.

The sun is shining today...no vampires in my presence...not at the moment!  No worries!

Keep giggling....xox

Grandma Gone Crazy

Tuesday, April 13, 2010
Hello Everyone,

It's time for another "face from the back".  Today's card is BC-266 Crabby By Nature.

This is a picture of my Mom taken a few years back. For some reason she got down on one of the kids little bikes that she kept in the house for them to ride around on.  One thing led to another, and she ended up with a baby gear game on top of her lap, a leather vest put on back wards, and my brother Mike plopped a Harley Hat on her head.  She is laughing so hard, and I am so glad someone had a camera and captured her at just the right moment.  This picture is priceless.

Another great reminder of finding joy in the moment.  It is such a simple statement, but nothing rings truer....Laughter is the best medicine.

Until next time...keep smiling.

It's Middle Child Monday, featuring one of the cards from my son Joe's line "Middle Child Madness"

The card I am featuring today is #009 - Hard to Handle

I love this quote, and I had not seen it before I saw it on Joe's card, which is amazing because I gravitate toward quotes, and collect them avidly.

I especially love the font used for this quote and it's presentation in the design.  Love it!

Happy Monday to you all.

Something new coming soon!

Thursday, April 08, 2010

Finally got a work day in with my "techy guy", and product developer, Joe.  I wasn't feeling so great, and I almost canceled our meeting...so glad I didn't.  We were finally able to move forward on something we've been talking about for a looooooong time.

I am so excited to  announce that we will be adding buttons to our product line.  At this point we are talking about little misc. fun buttons, and then some a bit larger that will incorporate some of the actual card designs re-designed to work in a button/pin format.  My task at this point is to pick out which card designs to use.  If you have any favorites that you would like to see made into a button, now is the time to let me know.  I would love to have your input.

Can't believe we had to look at snow this morning......sorry to complain, but I am so, so, so ready for summer.

April showers bring May flowers......bring on the flowers!  The good thing is, we know the snow is just a little fluke, and the warm weather is right around the corner.  So all is well.  Happy Spring.

Middle Child Monday

Monday, April 05, 2010

As some of you may know, and some of you may not...my son Joe has his own card line.  It was launched this past January and is just making it's way into the marketplace.  Of course I am a HUGE fan, and I am excited to share the cards with you through this venue.  Therefore I have dubbed every Monday, "Middle Child Monday".

Joe's design business is called Middle Child Made, and his new card line is Middle Child Madness.  His first trade show was in Chicago this past January, and the cards were a big hit, and turned out to be one of the top selling lines in the showroom.  I could go on, and on...but I will let the cards speak for themselves.  I am going to start out featuring my favorite card "Squirrels Tell the Best Jokes"  I don't know what it is about this card, but I literally doubled over and laughed out loud the first time I saw it.  It never fails to make me smile, and the funny thing is, there are a bunch of people out there that relate, and have shared some hysterical squirrel stories with Joe...who knew?

Happy Easter

Sunday, April 04, 2010
Happy Easter to everyone.  We lost our sunshine, and are having a rainy Easter.....not too cold though.  This Easter card is filled with little cousins of my Mom's all embellished with bunny ears.  My Mom passed away just a short month ago, and she loved seeing herself, and relatives on these cards.  She pointed them out to me over, and over....even the one's she had already seen.

The face from the back is my great niece Mary.  This was my Mother's first great-grandchild.  She is the daughter of my niece Amy ( My brother Mike and Mary's first daughter)  Whew!!!!  Pretty soon your gonna know them all better than your own family.

For Easter I want to leave you with the following verse that really speaks to the core of creativity.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies
proclaim the work of his hands.  Day after day
they pour forth speech; night after night they display
knowledge.  There is no speech or language where
their voice is not heard.  Their voice goes out into all
the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

Hippity, Hoppity ... Easter's on it's way.

Just a few Easter Cards to share with you, and tell you about the "faces from the back"  The first card BC-028 is one of the first 30 cards in my original line.  The front of this car is a picture of my Mom and Dad, Mike, Michele, and Mina Lee, all dressed up for Easter.  Judging from the fur coat my Mom has on it must still be cold out.  We would have been living in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania at this time.  I just love the big Easter Hats, and the way everyone dressed up for this special day.

The back of this card is a picture of my daughter Kaitlin with her little Brewers hat on....probably her brother's Brewers hat.  Notice how I didn't really coordinate the back picture to go with the front. I spot a pumpkin in the background of this picture.  I was scrambling by the seat of my pants to get these cards to print.  I usually didn't have the time to really locate the photo I wanted.  I just grabbed what came within my reach.  It all worked out though.

The second card BC-249 Peter's Eggs is a true favorite.  I found this postcard in a little antique store in Arizona, I think!  I didn't know what I was going to do with it, I just knew I had to have it.  That card sat on my desk for a good year, and nothing....I could think of nothing to use as a saying, and then one day, out of the blue.....there it was.  I remember running into the other room and holding the card up, and saying the caption to Mary, and she laughed out loud.  I knew I had just the right saying. She has a certain way of laughing that let's me know I am right on the mark.  I have had a lot of fun feed back from this card.

The "face from the back", is my niece, and fairy goddaughter Becky (COO, Mary's youngest daughter).  Of course Becky is now grown with a son of her own that could almost fit into this suit.  Where is that suit anyway Mary?
